Guide

Begin here

This guide is the slow entry to the method. If you already know the practice, jump straight to the Question Engine.
  1. 1

    Write a premise

A single sentence. Some seed of a civilization: a place, a rupture, a contradiction. It doesn't need to be good. It needs to exist.

  2. 2

    Build foundational structures

Sketch systems, a timeline, a map. Loose, provisional. The point is to have something to interview.

  3. 3

    Interview the world with cards

Pick a lens (Power, Meaning, Bodies…). Draw a card. Answer the core question, then the follow-ups. Let contradictions surface.

  4. 4

    Discover, revise, perturb

Use the Dashboard to see the shape of the world. Where are the gaps? What did you avoid? Draw a Perturbation card and let the world answer.
